COFOUNDER:  Michael J. Rosenthal is an entrepreneur, corporate trainer, and consultant with more than 30 years of management experience. He is the founder of Rosenthal Business Consulting (RBC), incorporated in both China and the United States, International Vice-President of LehmanBush, co-founder of the Entrepreneurs Toastmasters Shanghai, co-founder of the AI Short Film Week, and a partner of the Export Service Center and GOMAX.

Michael holds a B.S. in Psychology with University and Departmental honors from the University of Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law. He began his career in law, serving as a law clerk for two U.S. federal judges and spending eight years as a Federal Prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, where he received Outstanding Trial Attorney Awards in 1993 and 1996. He later served as Special Prosecutor and Minister of Justice for the Republic of Palau, taught law at Palau Community College, and served as President of the Palau Bar for two years.

Since 2005, Michael has been based in China, initially serving as Asia Pacific CEO for Day Light Inc., USA, and has since worked across industries including environmental trade, education, human resources, fashion, retail, health and beauty, and media. He has provided consulting, training, and coaching services to numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Baxter, Bayer, Cisco, Continental, Danone, Johnson Controls, Prudential, SAP, SAIC, Shanghai GM, and Volvo.

Michael is also active in media and entertainment, having appeared in commercials, television shows, and films alongside well-known Chinese actors such as Louis Koo, Hu Ge, Sun Li, Yang Mi, and Ren Da His, and has a featured role in a film directed by Chen Kai Ge. Michael has produced and directed promotional videos and served as host, emcee, panel facilitator, and auctioneer for major events, including the President’s Roundtable on Cancer, Fur Free Fashion, SIAS, AmCham Charity Galas, International Solid Waste Management Summit,Americans in Shanghai book launch, and the 50th Anniversary of U.S.–China Ping Pong Diplomacy. He also regularly speaks at conferences on US China relations and economic issues.

Michael has served four years as Chairman of the AmCham Shanghai Environmental Committee and on the AmCham Shanghai Board of Governors. He presently serves as the President of AmChamUS which is incorporated in Pennsylvania, USA.

COFOUNDER:  Julie Yu is a China Certified National Economist, Business Coach, Certified National Human Resources Professional, Registered Trademark Agent, and a member of the U.S. EAPA (Employee Assistance Professional Association). As the founder and driving force behind our company, she brings a rare combination of qualifications, experience, and strategic vision that empowers both our team and our international clients. As a China Certified National Economist, Julie has a deep understanding of macroeconomic trends, industrial policies, and regulatory dynamics that are essential for navigating the evolving business environment in China. Her ability to interpret economic data and government policies allows clients to make informed decisions and seize opportunities in both domestic and international markets. With over two decades of experience—including roles within the New York City Council and Fortune 500 companies—Julie brings exceptional insights as a Business Coach. She has successfully guided businesses of all sizes across various industries, helping them overcome challenges, streamline operations, and achieve sustainable growth. Her coaching emphasizes strategic planning, cross-cultural communication, and innovation. Julie is also a nationally certified Human Resources professional, with expertise in HR strategy, employment law, compliance, and organizational development. She works closely with clients to establish effective, legally compliant HR systems, particularly for companies managing international teams or expanding into the Chinese labor market.  As a registered Trademark Agent, Julie supports clients in safeguarding their most valuable assets—brands and intellectual property. She has helped numerous international clients successfully register, manage, and protect their trademarks in China, ensuring legal security and market competitiveness.  Julie’s diverse background allows her to provide holistic, one-stop support for our clients. Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Affairs:  A Mandarin speaker, Patrick Kelly has over 25 years of business and film experience in China. Patrick has been involved in Shanghai film and TV production since 1991, with credits including “Shanghai 1920” starring John Lone, Rudy Morgan’s “Flatland”, Merchant Ivory’s “White Countess”, and Daying Ye’s “Hong Se Lian Ren” starring Leslie Cheung.

Patrick has recently been involved with several short films including “Shen Qu,” which won Best Directing at Filmapaloza 2023, Best Cinematography at the Chelsea Film Festival, and was screened at the Canada China International Film Festival. In 2023 he produced “Detaching,” a Mandarin-language sci-fi short film that won multiple awards and was included in the Cannes Short Film Corner 2024. In 2024 he produced M.A.D | Mutual Assured Destruction for the AI Global Marathon Short Film Competition that won the Audience Choice Award from Bilibili. He is the managing director for Shanghai Fengying Media Development Co Ltd and a producer with Willmountain films.

Executive VP Public Relations:  Doug Guthrie is an expert in international business and trade, technology and society, entrepreneurship and technology transfer, and organizational development.  Guthrie uses his past experience in his teaching at ASU since he was a senior director at Apple in Shanghai, China, where he led Apple University efforts on leadership and organizational development in China.  Guthrie is a professor and the director of China Initiatives at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.  He has spent his career researching, writing, teaching and advising companies about organizational development and the Chinese economic reforms.  He received an AB in East Asian languages (concentration in Chinese literature) from the University of Chicago and MA and PhD degrees in organizational sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, he studied in Taipei, Taiwan, during his undergraduate years and conducted PhD research in Shanghai, China. He has authored and edited books, academic articles, popular articles, reports on Chinese economic reform, leadership and corporate social responsibility, and strategic economic development in American cities.

Executive VP Commerce: Frank Zhang is a highly accomplished financial executive with extensive leadership experience spanning global finance, risk management, and cross-border business development. As the Chief Operating Officer of RBC Consulting, he plays a central role in guiding corporations through financial strategy, investment management, international trade, and sustainable growth initiatives. Frank previously served as Vice President at Merrill Lynch Securities, where he specialized in wealth management, portfolio strategy, and high-net-worth advisory services. His expertise in asset allocation and client relationship management positioned him as a trusted advisor to sophisticated investors.  He later joined Allstate as Regional Director, overseeing financial planning, insurance solutions, and market expansion across key U.S. markets. Subsequently, as Group Vice President at World Financial Group, Frank led regional operations, enterprise development, and international strategic expansion, strengthening the organization’s presence in global markets. Beyond his corporate leadership roles, Frank has been deeply committed to fostering bilateral business collaboration. As President of the US / China Business & Culture Association, he played a meaningful role in promoting economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and commercial connectivity between the two nations. With an exceptional command of global financial markets and a strong dedication to international partnership development, Frank Zhang continues to shape impactful financial strategies and drive cross-border business and investment initiatives on a global scale.
